Default Wild -- the NPS site is looking official

This would be a very early close.

    Default ??

I'm not sure where you guy's are looking, but I sure as heck can't see it ! All I can see is that the road status at the moment is 'Closed' and nothing else to hint it might be official.

[I can't even find the quote in glc's post.]

Boy, I miss that kiosk Web cam that would give you a good idea of conditions and snow depth, hopefully they will get power back up there eventually.

Since I posted that, they have changed the index page. It doesn't say that any more.

Sonora, Ebbetts, and Monitor have been closed all week too.

    Default The waiting game !

Mmm, they may have jumped the gun for a while.

As I have said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it did not re-open, but would be totally surprised if they 'called' it this early. The weather looks settled over the next few day's and the snow depth is decreasing. Over the last few day's the meadows have dropped from 12" to 8" in depth, but at the East entry kiosk only a couple of inches to just under 12", so who knows ?

[As it sits at the moment, glc is pretty darn close]

Ebbetts is reopened, but Sonora and Tioga are still closed.

Default Will it, won't it ?

This weekend could be a decider !

The snow depth is under 5" now at White wolf and the Meadows, and under 10" at the kiosk, but just as it is looking like it might possibly re-open, the forecast says there is new snow on it's way Fri into the weekend, how much I wonder !

    Could be significant !!!

Tioga is OPEN. Confirmed on both the Caltrans and NPS sites. Glacier Point is closed.

Default So Close... And yet so far

    George,

I really thought you might win this year! But Dave was on the money -- I figured it could still happen.

    Thanks for the updates!
