Hi all,
This is my first post here. I have dearly loved Roadside America – embracing the oddity and the cheesiness for all they are worth without an ounce of snarkiness — for many years. I also have a "Drive-In Sense" much like Spider-Man's "Spidey Sense" which kicks on when in certain areas and tells me, "There's a drive-in theater around here somewhere!" I'm actually about 55% serious. Worked like a charm down in the Florida keys once where a mostly intact theater was discovered. Other times, I found where something once was, but there wasn't much left sadly.

Anyhow, I am considering a roadtrip from Macon, Georgia to Terlingua, Texas. I have never ventured into the Old West in my adult years -- although I was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. At any rate, while poking around on this site, someone suggested visiting Terlingua, a ghost town which has come back to life and which features a thriving drive-in movie theater.

I would like to see as much fun stuff as possible on the way and back again. Any suggestions regarding which highways to take, places to stay, and what not to miss? Thanks in advance.
