AAA vs AARP.....

We are AAA members - always glad to have the peace-of-mind of the ERS as well as the free maps and tour books.

In yesterday's mail, we got an application for AARP membership. Other than Motel 6, can anyone think of lodging or restaurants that give discounts to AARP members and *not* to AAA members? That's the only one I can think of. They're also willing to throw in an insulated backpack, which looks nice for road travelers who like to hit the trail periodically. I'm still looking into the political aspect (we got out of AARP when they started to support something that we were very strongly against).
