1st Big Summer Long Roadtrip

Me and a few friends are thinking of doing a big road trip this summer. If you know of any cool or interesting things to do, in America of course, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it in this thread. We live in New Jersey so east coast attractions are more preferred but we wont turn down ideas from other parts of the country.

I'm sorry, but throwing a canvas of "America" out there and hoping people give you ideas -especially when you've told us nothing about what you are interested in - is really a non-starter. There's just no way that anyone can provide you any meaningful suggestion, when there are millions upon millions of possiblities and you've provided no way to even start narrowing them down.

There is no such thing as a one sized fits all roadtrip. When it comes right down to it, this is your trip, and if you don't at least have a starting point of where you want to go, and how much time and money you'll have to do it, its going to be nearly impossible for anyone else to come up with ideas to help you.

There are a lot of resources on this site to help you figure out what it is you want to do, and we encourage you to take a look around to help figure out what it is you want. Once you've got that established, we can help you with more suggestions and help you put everything together.

Our ultimate plan is to go to cities and do something that they are famous for. We live right outside of Philadelphia, so "go to Philadelphia and try a cheesesteak" would be one, if we didn't grow up on mass quantities of cheese and steak. Anywhere within a trip to get there and than come back within a day or two would be great, probably a 7 or 8 hour drive being the longest.
