I definitely could be wrong, but the shape is right.

Here's my 'Under the Window' shot

That small staircase of rocks looks pretty similar. Megan's shot is from the backside in, which is why those rocks are on the right.

And the shape sure looks right from a long view

South Window doesn't fit at all. If it is one of the Windows, it's North.

Default Well, now you've got me wondering too....

I thought it WAS the North Window, but I've looked at some shots of Turret and it's possible the shape is better --but I don't remember walking to Turret. In the end, Twilight's double image of North and South confirms my memory -- (I think) it is the North Window....

Thanks guys! (You've reminded me again, how feeble my memory is...) But great shots from your collections!

You'd remember getting under Turret. The Windows have a path that leads directly under. Turret requires a touch of rock scrambling to get under there.

    Default North Window for sure

Having just been there, I have a shot that looks a lot like Mark's, but from the front side. The long shot of North and South windows reminds me that we spent our time at Arches renaming all the arches. We dubbed the North and South windows together the "Masquerade Arch".

Default Definitely not Turret; it IS a "Window"

I think my choice of lens and angle distorted the relative sizes in my shot.

Opening of Turret Arch is all wrong:

Default Thanks for the confirmation shots!

    I like that "Masquerade Arch".

Here's a perfect example to illustrate....

Dan Sedenquist(the driver) is not thrilled by my choice of routes herein...

And I know unless you're as stupid as I am, you've probably never seen that shot...

So, here's a more common view of that place:

    Where is this?

Default The South shall rise again!

I pulled up my shot of The Spectacles from Turret:

This seems to be taken from the same angle as Twilight's.

If I read my map correctly, the arch to the left is North, where I shot Linda, and the arch to the right is South, which looks to me more like where Megan's shot was taken.

As for the current puzzle; Cottonwood Canyon Road?

I had plans to take this road, but then "Shafer Trail" happened and I lost off-highway privileges for the remainder of the trip.

Default yeah, but I still think it's North.

I think we're in agreement about which one is which -- but I still think it's North.

    Default Hint #2

The location is in Clark County, Nevada -- near the Muddy River. But it's pretty well known for another reason....

    Default Valley of fire ?

Although I'm not convinced that's correct.

[BTW some great shots of Arches NP, can't wait to get there !! ]
