Default A Bridge, A Tunnel, A Road and.... Rocks!

Sticking to the theme, (albeit, slightly expanded...) I've always loved this shot...

Where is this? What's the name of the tunnel? (Actually, I don't even know that...So, instead, what is the general area called?)
Hint #1: It's located in a memorable state park....

Default My first "spot" - and it's South Dakota

... or, to be more precise, the Iron Mountain Road in the Black Hills, and this particular tunnel (no, I can't find a name either) is aligned to frame the faces of Mount Rushmore.

OK, my turn. Location please, and what makes this particular building famous?

Yep, you are correct, although I didn't know it was called the Iron Mountain Road! Custer State Park is the largest state park in the USA and this is in the Needles District. The park is blessed some of the coolest orientation of tunnels on public roads in the nation. Some of them look like they were created in CGI for the movies -- It's hard to believe they are real!

Hmmm, one more hint may be in order -- it is kind of an interesting building....

    Default Yep, a movie location

... and your clue is that the weather in this shot is significant to this 1956 movie's plot (only the snow was much heavier, so much so that the road was closed).

    Default Hmmm, film history eh?

Well, it wasn't any of the obvious ones (at least obvious to me)...

Maybe it was a little obscure. This store was used as the setting for Grace’s Diner in the Marilyn Monroe film “Bus Stop” – where she and Don Murray were snowed in.

Hope this is a more reasonable challenge - what river is this?

There are several film buffs in the membership, I bet someone would have gotten it today -- sometimes you need to let them season a bit!

Default Sure, let us twist in the wind longer...

    We can take it!

Looks like a big wide river in the Northwest... Columbia?

    Default Look at the mountains!

    Don,

That was my first guess as well -- but look at those mountains! I can't remember any place on the Columbia where you can see mountains like that. That looks like a commercial fishing vehicle. Dang, Peter's, (Vambo25) puzzles are tough! He must have looked high and low to find one of HIS images with so little detail - -most of Peter's photography published elsewhere on the RTA site are chock-full of iconic scenery.....

Dirty Pool! Check out the name of the file in the attached image! Well, I'm feeling a bit "twisted"!

OK, it sorta looks like the Puyallup River right near the sound... but I'm only 50/50 positive of this!
