    Welcome!

It's about 300 miles from South Lake Tahoe to Big Sur - a drive that can be done in 1 day. There are several different routes that you could take.

Highway 1 should be fully open in the next few days, they have the Alder Creek slide almost cleared and the Rocky Creek slide area has been open with one-way controlled traffic for quite a while now.

Heading south from Big Sur, you can go to Cambria, then take CA-46 to Paso Robles. From there, you can take US-101 through Santa Barbara, then get back on CA-1 at Oxnard and take that down into Santa Monica. It's going to be pretty slow going from there to Rancho Palos Verdes where Terranea is located.

Any particular reason you are going to Paso Robles? I'd personally stay on CA-1 out of Cambria through Morro Bay to San Luis Obispo to pick up 101.
