Default San Diego to Sacramento via Highway 1

We plan to leave AM from San Diego on 10/11/04, drive up I-5 towards LA and do a few things, then up Highway 101 to Highway 1, stay somewhere in San Simeon for the night, visit Hearst Castle the next day, and then drive on home to Sacramento through Monterey then back to the valley to Sacramento. Adequate time to do this? Thanks for your help

    Default Sure

    Will,

Yes, this schedule makes a great deal more sense than your last query. When you get to Cayucos -- there are many more fun places to stay than you will find in San Simeon.

    Default Pumpkins

If you're on your way up there, be sure to pass by half moon bay for their pumpkin festival. I just got back from there. Every farm along the way has some sort of pumpkin patch, with pony rides, petting zoos, mazes, hay rides and this year, elephant rides. Even if you don't intend to buy a pumpkin, it's fun walking through the patches. Just follow the signs off the side of the freeway.
