Default Wildflowers

It's about that time of year to go see the wildflowers. If anyone is in the southern california area and doesn't know what I'm talking about, just do a search for "wildflowers" and "Anza Borrego" and you'll get plenty of results. This year is supposed to be one of the best due to the recent rains. I'll be going there this weekend hopefully

    Default Phoenix

They're beginning to bloom in Arizona as well -- almost overnight, the sides of the freeways in north Phoenix (SR51) were covered in yellow blooms! One of the nicest drives around Phoenix for wildflowers is the Apache Trail (SR88) -- and it is one of the most rugged and scenic drives in the state!

Default Lookin' Good on I-15 too!

Since I was covering the DARPA Grand Challenge robot race last weekend, I spent a goodly part of the day on I-15 and the Brittle Bush is in full glory and plenty of other spring blooms were out there.

I have added some new links for 2004-wildflower intel to our wildflower article.

Default Feeling a little snow bound?

    Timbo,

It is 87 degrees under blue skies outside the RTA offices here in Las Vegas... I am thinking it is about time to go take a swim, play bocce or hit a few golf balls.

Doesn't it feel like Spring where you are??? (Hee, Hee)

    Ouch, that smarts ;-)

Had a warm rain Saturday night, felt a little Spring in the air. We will be getting out to Pennsylvania for our first long road trip of the year on Patriot's Day weekend. The past two years it has been mid-70s for temperatures with mostly sunny skies. When the seasons are short, you gotta get out and enjoy every minute!

    Default more wildflowers

There are more wildflowers around Palmdale in the Mojave Desert. Palmdale is off Highway 14. 14 eventually turns into highway 395 and goes up into Mammoth, Reno & Lake Tahoe. They should be great within a few days. I'm considering playing hookey one work day and going up there to see them.
