Default Spring Break Road Trip

Hey everyone, This is my first time here, this place is great! Well, I like many of the other people that I have read posts from on this site am struck with something very powerful, wanderlust. I'm sure your all familiar with that nagging feeling, that draw that keeps us wanting to get on the road and just go. I am a college student at WVU in Morgantown, WV and for this years spring break I've tossed many options around. I have considered everything from skiing in Killington, VT to camping outside of Pennsicolla, FL. These trips weren't seeming to click or feel right, so I began to think. I finally came to the conclusion that it was time to take a road trip. This isn't going to be any old roadtrip though, it was going to be ten days completely free and open. What do I mean by that? Well, me and a few friends that I was able to convince we'd have a great time, are going to leave Morgantown with our camping gear, a little money in our pockets, a road map, and a quarter. Now the quarter is the significant part here, whenever we come to a major highway or a road that looks interesting we'll flip the coin. Heads we take the road, tails we keep going on the one we're on. We may end up in Arizona or we may end up in Maine. The mysterious adventure this trip promises coupled with my wanderlust has me about ready to burst with anticipation. So I guess I'm here to ask for advice, things to do along the way, things to see if we happen by them, as well as any tips for the extended roadtrip to only God knows where.

Default We call that the mosey

The mosey roadtrip is typified by driving without a plan -- the quarter toss idea sounds like a perfect candidate for induction. As we say around here "a roadtip is a state of mind" so for starters you might find our Rules helpful.

There are, at last count, about twenty-three hundred, ideas for routes and destination on this forum with another few hundred on the main roadtripamerica.com site. But one possible -- "out there" would be Terlingua, TX near Big Bend.

    Go have an adventure!
