DTw to LA

we are planning on driving from DTW to LA. Then flying from LA on the back. What should we expect? How many days would it take to get there?

If you average 500 miles a day of driving (which leaves little time for sightseeing of any kind) you'll get to LA in about five days.

You should expect inclement weather to occur ANYWHERE along your route, so just keep your eyes out. Use common sense, listen to local radio, and look out for Interstate rest stops equipped with weather info centers.
