Some low lying cloud caught in today's image from the High Sierra webcam. Some snow due over the weekend, but not a lot. Those watching the water table will be hoping for a lot more of the white stuff in 2025.

Not much of the white stuff has arrived in the much of the western states. There has been significant snow in the eastern slope of the Colorado Rockies -- but as a resident of Las Vegas, we need that snow to fall on the western slope.
And, I hope more snow falls in Yosemite. Almost no snow in Eastern Wyoming and places like Toronto. Very worrisome.

Global warming is not consistent throughout the atmosphere. Upper levels have increased in temperature by a significantly greater amount than at the surface, as much as 9.5 °F warmer than previously at 10,000 ft. Not only will this help keep any precipitation in the form of rain rather than snow, but will also lower the total precipitation as warmer air can hold more water as water vapor than colder air. I would not be surprised if one year, soon, Tioga Pass will get through a winter without closing at all.
