  1. Default Palm Springs to Boise, ID Motorhome Trip Advice

We have a 33' Class C Motorhome and are planning a trip from Palm Springs, CA to Boise, ID at the end of August.

I have a few questions to those familiar with the route.

We will be picking I-84 up in Victorville, Ca

Will be encountering much mountain driving?

Any crazy bridge crossings along the way?

    Is this the best route?

    Welcome to the RTA forum!

I-84 doesn't go through California, but I'm guessing you mean you'll be heading up I-15 from Victorville to I-84 in Utah.

For your trip, that probably is the easiest route, and since it's all interstate you won't encounter any driving that is too difficult, even when you are traveling through mountains.

At 1000 miles, this is a good 2 day drive. The cedar city/beaver ut area would be fairly close to halfway and is a good spot to look to stop for the night.

    Welcome to RTA!

I-84 doesn't go anywhere near Victorville. You sure you don't mean I-15?

I would not go to Victorville. I would take CA-62 out of Palm Springs to Yucca Valley, then CA-247 to Lucerne Valley, turn right to stay on CA-247 to Barstow, to I-15. Take that to Salt Lake City to I-84 to Boise. This avoids any significant mountains.

Are you planning to complete the route as quickly as safely possible or are you planning on taking your time and sightseeing ? Personally, I would take US93(NV318) to Twin Falls then I-84 but there other options. If you had to go to Victorville for some reason, you could go up US395/6/95.

  5. Default Sorry I meant 93

Refer to my post #3 above.
