    Note that there is a difference between a learner's permit and a full driver's license.

    It makes more sense now to allow an extra day and take it a bit easier and spend a little time enjoying a break and seeing a couple of sights. The Petrified forest and little detours into some of the old route 66 towns (for example) would make it more interesting and relaxing.

    I believe with learner's permit you have to have a valid driver sitting in passenger seat as a trainer. Not sure about driving on highway or out-of state driving with learner's permit.
