    Default Google maps

Google maps seems to have changed overnight! At leadt my google maps is now different, and on the routes I've made I can only see the full distance and time, not distance and time between each stop! It's useless! Is anyone else having problems or is it just me? Maybe it's just the Norwegian version, but it used to be fine before... Do anyone know about an equivalent to google maps? Thanks:)

    Default Me too

You're not alone. Google appears to have "upgraded" their site at some point this week, and in the process have made it significantly less user friendly. I've been cursing it, and trying to find a combination of options to get it to work like it did a few days ago, but so far I've had no luck.

There are a number of other map programs out there, like Rand McNalley and Mapquest, but I don't think either of them have the drag and drop feature that has made Google my map of choice over the last year or so.

    Default Me too!

I like the new way you can input your stops so you can do multiple stops without having to press submit and wait for it to do the route. This is a huge timesaver.

But I hate not having the distance between each stop. I'm hoping this is a glitch in the upgrade that they will be fixing. I was just visiting the help section for Google maps to see if they had any information on this and if it would be fixed. Didn't find anything.

    Default The "google factor"

Yeah, this new and improved version is a little vexing -- you can still navigate to the directions section and obtain the distance and time data we have been using, but it is more challenging.

You can find that link in the navigation bar directly below the Google Maps title.

    Default Yeah, but...

You can only got a total mileage. Not the breakdown between each stop. Or am I missing something?

    Default not finding it

I still haven't found the way to get distances between stops anymore, it looks like you have to break each leg up into individual trips if you want miles for each segment.

But while they got rid of that important section, the now do have a "handy" tool to provide walking directions. Walking the 34 miles from my home to work would take an estimated 11 hours 12 minutes according to Google - and for some reason the prefered walking route would add an extra 4 miles to my commute, even though I'm already driving exclusively on rural roads.

Someone should let google know that just because you've made an upgrade, it doesn't mean you've made an improvement (aka if it ain't broke, don't fix it).

Default They've moved into first place

For a long time, Microsoft was at the top of the list for being the most arrogant company operating in the computer world. But now, the aforementioned seems to be vying for this dubious honor.

Default I think they know they goofed

I finally found discussions at the GoogleMaps discussion pages about the upgrade. There are dozens of complaints and a guy named Brian from the GoogleMap team has been responsive.

People are requesting that the new version have the old functionality and that people be given an option of using the old or new version.

Brian has made a lot of assurances that these things are being worked on and will probably happen soon. I hope he's right.

If they respond and at least allow us to return to the old version, if we prefer it, then, at least in my opinion, Microsoft still tops the list. ;)

    Default Thank you

It makes me feel slightly better to know I'm not the only one who's frustrated and confused... I've tried other maps, but I miss my google. I hope they change it back or at least add that little detail... Is it just me or is it also very hard to change the order of the stops in the new version?

    Default It's not just you

That was another big complaint. And I concur.
