    Hello there
We are travelling from Scotland and would like to know what the procedure is re
entrance fees to National Parks. Do we pay for every National Park and how much does it cost. Thank you

Default Dozens of Parks, One Price

Each park has its own entry fee. They generally range from $10-$25 for a weeklong pass good for everyone in the car. You can find out the specific fees for each park at the National Park's Website.

However, if you are going to visit more than one or two parks, you will serve yourself well by getting an Annual Pass. For $50, you get unlimited admissions to every National Park in the country for a whole year.

Even better, at some of the more popular parks like the Grand Canyon, there are lines designated for those who have passes, which will let you bypass the throngs of people who are trying paying their fees at the gate.

  4. Default does it work for rental cars?

    Hi,

I checked out the National Park Foundation's website on the National Parks Pass. On the website, it says that the pass can be use for "private non-commercial vehicle (motorcycle, car, van)." Does anyone know if that includes rental cars? Also, is the pass a sticker you put on your windshield or a card that goes in a wallet?

    Thanks!
    Susan

Susan, it is a card you put in your wallet and rental cars are OK! Once you present your card, the ranger at the check-in will also give you a sticker for your window and a map.

It's just a little credit card looking "pass" that grants admission to every NP in the country, and you learn the secret handshake to! jk. Commercial vehicle restrictions are to keep "tour group" type vehicles from entering, charging all there patrons for full park admission and profiting because they only had to pay 50$ once a year. Or so thats how it was explained to me. Rental cars are OK, i've used a rental a few times to go through some National Parks with no problems.

  7. Default National Park Fees

Depending on how many NP you're planning on visiting, check into the Golden Eagle Hologram program... Go to http://www.nps.gov/ and search on fees... Golden Eagle is good though because you pay once for every NP in the country... Grampa
