• Clarkson Covered Bridge - Bethel, Alabama

      One of just 14 covered bridges remaining in Alabama. this attractive construction, also known as Legg Bridge, is the centerpiece of a small park with hiking trails and picnic area. First constructed in 1904, the original 270 ft bridge was destroyed when Crooked Creek flooded in 1921, rebuilt a year later and restored in 1975.

      This location was also the site of the Battle of Hog Mountain and a number of Civil War relics have been found nearby.
