Wiederkehr Village, Arkansas

Of the six wineries in Arkansas, Wiederkehr is the largest and best known. Founded by a family of Swiss immigrants in 1880, Wiederkehr has established a colorful little Swiss 'village' with a restaurant and a ballroom. Offers tastings, tours, and special events, including an annual Weinfest in August.

If you go:
Open daily except major holidays. Restaurant open only for lunch. The nearby town of Altus has three more of the state's vineyards. It was thrust into the spotlight when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie came to film the reality series 'The Simple Life'.
