In this nondescript little building in this quiet little town is a modest museum paying tribute to musical legend and Erick native Roger Miller, a singer/songwriter who distinguished himself in country, pop and Broadway genres. Items on exhibit include Miller's handwritten lyrics for his hit song 'King of the Road' and the hobo figurine that inspired the song. Incidentally, the museum is located on a street named after another local entertainment legend: actor/singer Sheb Wooley, best known for his hit song 'Flying Purple People Eater'.
If you go:
Open every day until 5:00 p.m. or by special arrangement. Every fall the museum hosts a Roger Miller Festival.
