• Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary - Locust Grove, Georgia

      You meet more than 1,500 animals at Noah's Ark, a sanctuary for abused, abandoned, neglected, or surrendered animals. The most famous animal there is Baloo the bear, the last living member of the BLT (Bear, Lion & Tiger) trio confiscated after a raid at a drug dealer's home in Atlanta. Two of the group, Shere Khan, a Bengal tiger, and Leo, the African lion, passed away and are buried at the sanctuary.

      If you go:
      The visit to the sanctuary if free. You can book paid tours for closer encounters. Hours are picnic/Playground/Visitor's Center: Tuesday thru Saturday: 9 am to 4 pm. Habitat is open Tuesday thru Saturday 12 pm to 3 pm.
