Seeing Mount Denali is high on most people's 'Must Do' lists when visiting Alaska and there's no more memorable or dramatic way of doing this than on a flightseeing trip out of Talkeetna Airport. Family-owned K2 Aviation offers a choice of flights taking in Denali and its many glaciers and - budget/weather permitting - you can opt for a glacier landing as part of the experience. It's not cheap but it's genuinely awe-inspiring.

      If you go:
Safety is obviously the #1 priority and if weather conditions mean flights are unable to depart, you'll be offered the chance to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Having done this (in 2001), I can heartily recommend that you do the same if you get the chance. When my wife and I took this flight there were two things that made it special: Since I have a pilot's license, I got to sit 'right seat' (i.e. in the co-pilot's seat), AND we landed on a glacier on the flank of the mountain for a short hike. My hand-written notes at the time were short and to the point: "Outstanding, a thrill, 2 hour tour with landing." We flew with Doug Geeting Aviation, but I suspect that there are others doing the same thing, especially after over 20 years.
