When you think of rain forests, you may think of tropical regions, but this one in the Pacific Northwest is also quite impressive. Located within Olympic National Park, the Quinault Rain Forest is an awe-inspire preserve of flora and fauna, including elk, black bear, cougars and coyotes. An excellent location for an abundance of recreational activities, including hiking, camping, bicycling, horseback riding, fishing and river rafting. One of the park's distinguished features is the world's largest spruce tree, which is 191 feet tall with a diameter of nearly 19 feet, and is about 1000 years old.
