      This excellent museum tells the story of prohibition from the days of the temperance movement, through the days of moonshine and mobsters, to the day in December 1933 when President Franklin D Roosevelt ratified the 21st Amendment to bring this era to an end. Consisting of 13 different galleries, the museum features videos, interpreters, historic artifacts, waxworks, four vintage cars and even its own fully stocked speakeasy where visitors can enjoy a 1920's cocktail.

      If you go:
      The American Prohibition Museum is open 364 days of the year, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The only day the museum is closed is Saint Patrick's Day.
