This 95 acre state park is centred around the picturesque waters of Lake Waramaug, named after an Indian chief of the Wyantenock tribe who had hunting grounds nearby. While the park has year round appeal, it is particularly attractive when the fall colours arrive. The lake itself extends well beyond the confines of the park and facilities along the scenic drive that winds its way around the lake include accommodation, dining, a country club and highly respected vineyard.

      If you go:
Park activities include boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and photography. Camping and canoe / kayak rentals are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
