Point Judith is most famous for its lighthouse, which dates to 1856, but its beaches and sightseeing opportunities are what make this beautiful peninsula stand out. Unfortunately the lighthouse is not open to the public, but the Rose Nulman Memorial Park offers superb ocean and coastline views that can be seen from your car. The Point Judith Fisherman's Memorial, located down the dirt road just before you reach the lighthouse, is the perfect place to enjoy a day at the beach and has great views of the lighthouse.
If you go:
There are plenty of lodging options and countless fresh seafood venues just minutes up the road in Galilee. The Block Island Ferry is five minutes from the lighthouse. The entire area is very picturesque and has a slower, rural feel to it.
