When it opened its doors in 1913, The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County was the first museum in Los Angeles. It s now one of the largest of its kind on the west coast. Complete dinosaur skeletons, stunning diorama halls of detailed recreations of rare and endangered animals in their natural habitats, as well as artifacts from the history of the city and area are all to be found here.

      If you go:
The NHM Grill is a great lunch option and picnicking is allowed outside or at nearby Exposition Park. It is best to pay to park at the museum. The museum is very kid-friendly with interactive displays and a dinosaur puppet show. They also offer sleepovers where your family can spend the night inside the museum.
