A few miles outside the mountain resort town of Eureka Springs, Blue Spring Heritage Center is a combination nature center and historic site with a spring that delivers 38 million gallons of water daily and nature walks. Gardens include the Medicine Wheel Garden based on American Indian tradition. The Bluff Shelter, on the National Register Of Historic Places, has been the site of archaeological discoveries dating to its days as a native American ritual site. This area was also a refuge for the Cherokee after their forced relocation from Georgia. There are exhibits and special events, including classes in arts and crafts for all ages.
