The Wetlands Park is a large nature preserve which offers great opportunities to see some of the desert's natural wonders. Countless species of birds pass through at different times of the year and the abundant source of water and foliage draw jack rabbits, desert mice, and a variety of reptiles. The Las Vegas Wash runs through the park. The Exhibit Hall at the visitor's center houses superb educational displays.
If you go:
The park and exhibit hall are free. The trails are paved, easy to walk on, and are great for children. The park is open dawn to dusk, and the exhibit hall is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
