Why just go sailing when you can go parasailing? Island Style Parasailing will take you out in the bay on one of their boats and then attach you to a parachute on which you can soar at heights of up to 500 feet for a 10 minute flight that gives you a whole new perspective. It may sound a bit daunting if you suffer from fear of heights, but you don't seem nearly as high up as you are. The owner of the business, who previously operated parasailing tours in Hawaii for 16 years, personally conducts the expeditions, and makes certain you have a good time, and learn about the local landmarks and points of interest. If you fail to bring a camera along or use it adequately, you can purchase high quality photos and videos of your flight shot by the crew. Minimum age to fly is 6.
If you go:
Reservations recommended, as space is limited. Plan to arrive a little early in case you have difficulty parking, Lots are available but expensive, and unsuitable for large vehicles. Metered parking on the street is much more reasonable. Open 7 days a week, Memorial Day to Labor Day or a few days after Labor Day. Be advised that your scheduled cruise may be canceled in the event of strong winds, but the staff will do everything to accommodate you at another time. Wear clothing you don't mind getting wet in. You probably won't get wet, but you do have the option of having your feet or as much of you as you want dipped in the water on your return to the boat. Make sure all valuable items are secure - you may want to bring a bag to stash them in. If you wear glasses on your flight, be sure to secure them with a cord.
