At an elevation of 6433 feet, Aguereberry Point in the Panamint Range offers incredibly expansive views of Death Valley, including the oasis of Furnace Creek, the salt flats of Badwater Basin and, 80 miles to the east in Nevada, the 11,900-ft peak of Mount Charleston. Getting there involves a six mile drive along a gravel road, it's passable in any vehicle (conditions permitting) but you may decide to walk the final 100 yards or so as it gets quite steep.
If you go:
Stop along the way to visit the remains of Pete Aguereberry's camp and his Eureka Mine.
