This event is the only outdoor stair climb in the United States. It's known as "the 5K that feels like a 10K," though actually it is 4.5k. It's held the third Saturday of October and features nine staircases that take participants through scenic areas of historic Bisbee. You're guaranteed a workout whether you walk or run and a day of fun whether participant or observer! And, if climbing stairs is not for you, you can check out the craft beers at the Beer Fest that same weekend
If you go:
Registration is limited to 2000 participants so register early if you plan to participate. People of all ages participate, from 5 to 87. Book a room early, too, if you plan to spend the weekend. There are a couple of RV parks in Bisbee.
