Paying tribute to the immigrants of many ethnicities and nationalities, especially the French Canadians, who settled in Rhode Island in the nineteenth century to work in the textile mills, the Museum of Work and Culture offers photographs, films, and hands-on exhibits that preserve this important chapter in Rhode Island and American history.

Closed Mondays. Free Parking. The Rhode Island Historical Society also operates other historic properties, such as the John Brown House, the home of an influential scion of the family after whom Brown University was named.
