Named for the spooky atmosphere created in the winter by the wind, fog, and trees, Haunting Whisper Vineyards offers free wine tastings of several varieties of red, white and fruit wines in a rustic mountain setting overlooking nearby lakes. Group tours available.

If you go:
Open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5:00 p.m., from May to just before Christmas. By appointment January through April.
