Once a well-kept secret among those "in the know", the Shack-up Inn is now a famous destination for road trippers and blues aficionados looking to stay somewhere that's quite unlike anywhere else. Located just 3 miles south of the official 'crossroads' where Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil, the Shack-up is a collection of refurbished sharecroppers' shacks and rooms in a cotton gin, located on the site of the old Hopson Plantation.

      If you go:
Don't expect luxury but you do get a/c, hot and cold water, fridge, cooking/coffee facilities and, in one shack, a piano - everything you need in fact for a uniquely memorable stay close to the birthplace of the blues.
