Thunderbird Riding Stables - Norman, Oklahoma

Whatever your level of skill on horseback, you'll find a suitable horse and trail at Thunderbird. This privately owned facility located in Little River State Park on Lake Thunderbird maintains a stable of about 30 gentle horses that know the trails well (if you're a beginner, you really don't even have to give the horse any guidance) so you can take a leisurely and unguided hour's ride through the property of some 500 wooded acres, perhaps spotting deer or other wildlife along the way. Friendly operators and low prices help make your experience pleasant and memorable.

If you go:
Open all year, weather permitting. A haunted attraction is also operated on the property in October. The state park itself offers many recreational opportunities including some challenging bike and hiking trails, and the Thunderbird Casino is located nearby.
