With the Fall of 2009, we flew to our nation's capital and set out on a 2,737-mile journey around the northeast states, raking in the sights of the big historic cities and more national parks/monuments. The peaking fall foliage was a nice touch as well.
  1. We found the Bass Harbor Head Light (lighthouse) at the southern tip of Acadia National Park.
  2. This was the view outside our lodge when we reached Cabins, WV.
  3. The Canadian side was looking good in the sunrise, once again viewing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, in Canada.
  4. The American falls were lit up in colors, viewed from Niagara Falls on the Canada side.
  5. We passed by Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area in West Virginia as we headed south to our next state.
  6. The low temperature caused a nice mist above the stream by our cottage in Cabins, WV.
  7. This was our lodge for the night here at the Harman North Fork Cottages in Cabins, WV. It was cozy, and I made good use of their outside hot tub.
  8. Near the northern edge of Shenandoah National Park, this little grove towered over all who drove through.
  9. The fall colors are peaking on the hills of Shenandoah National Park.
  10. This black bear is wondering what the dozens of tourists are doing snapping a picture while he's looking for food in Shenandoah National Park.
