    Default Glacier point Rd closure.

A good dusting of snow and cold temps have closed the Glacier Point Road and snow chains may be required. No updates from the plow teams so will have to wait and see if the current weather situation causes further delays.

    It looks rather chilly !

Default Running out of time for an April opening.

Yes a beautiful week of weather in Yosemite is forecasted and although I have found no clues, I have a feeling the pass may open before the weekend. [Or is that wishful thinking]

Yikes -- most of my family dates were taken months ago and forgot about prediction. It's probably too late and there aren't many dates left.

Will take for Mother's Day which is May 11th at 9 am.

    Default Not a qualifying date.

Hi Jessica. The date you have selected will not be a valid entry if it happens to be the winning date as the date is before the minimum requirement of the 15 day rule.

    Entry rules.

    Please read entry rules carefully
To win this prize, the date must be posted** on this Forum more than or equal to fifteen (15) days prior to the official Tioga Pass Road OPENING date. (**Your "date" must be identified in a post on this thread...**)
    * Further, you must identify a particular date in your post.
    * Further, you must identify a particular time in your post (date and time is required for the winning entry).
*And if you manage to identify the correct opening time within 60 minutes.... you'll receive an additional surprise gift from RTA.
    * A single calendar date can only be claimed by one member. If two or more members chose the same calendar date, and that date proves to be the "Winning Date", the prize will go to the member who "claimed" the date the earliest in this contest period.
*The official date for this Tioga Pass Prognosticator contest tracks with Pacific Time (USA), so no matter what date it might be in your local neighborhood, the date used for this contest will be the same one used by the officials at Yosemite National Park for Tioga Pass.

You are welcome to try another date.

Thank you. I didn't notice the 15 days out requirement..

so May 16th at 9 am.

That date appears to be free but if that date is not good then May 15th at 9 am.

Default Not gonna be April opening then.

The first update from the official Yosemite site since April 22nd suggests that the weekend storm has created more work and slowed the plowing effort to take us into May. The words "Continue to finish' would suggest they are not that far away though.

    From Yosemite.

Road crews continue to finish plowing and roadwork, including new plowing required following last weekend's storm. This page will not be updated until new information is available.
    Watch this space !

    Dave.
