First Time Road Trippers

My family and I are planning a trip to Atlantic Beach, NC in March. My daughter who is now 12 , has never been on a road trip. I am thinking that we may road trip it in lieu of flying. Any ideas on a scenic route or preparation for first timers in tha car for 18 hours with a toddler and pre-teen?

We can't tell you much about a scenic route, since you haven't told us where you are starting from!

However, there is already a wealth of advice about Family Roadtrips on the RTA website. I particularly like the Are We There Yet? article by Chris Epting which has some great rules and ideas for making a trip with the kids fun.
