Art Start is a program that combines public art projects
with youth employment training for residents of Sonoma
County in California. A similar program exists in
New York City. To date, the ArtStart city bus bench
program has created and installed at least twenty-four
of these unique bus benches along the Santa Rosa CityBus
routes. Gerald Thurman saw these two examples while
