That is the Hotel Connor in Jerome AZ. What you blurred out is Spirit Room.
Just in case there's still any doubt: yes, yes, and great job, as usual! I planned to create a convincing little cloud, floating in front of the sign for the Spirit Room--which had to be obscured, because it would have been a dead giveaway! (Ahem) But in the end, I settle for a simple blur, and besides, the scrambled letters on the hotel sign didn't even slow you guys down. Strange goings on and scrambled signs come with the territory. Jerome is a ghost town, after all, and the Connor is one of several establishments reputed to be haunted...
Jerome is part of Scenic Side Trip #9, an alternative to Interstate 17 on that crowded run between Phoenix and Flagstaff. This is definitely one of the most popular routes in the book, and for good reason! Here's an excerpt, with a little bit of background on the Billion Dollar Copper Camp that we now know as ghost town Jerome:

I kinda figured. Utahtea is such a good sport, she likes to stop just short of spelling out the answers, to give everybody else one more shot at the puzzle.
Here's another new one. I'm looking for the name of a Mountain Range. You'll have to begin by figuring out which state you are in, and once you've done that, naming the mountains should be easy. It is not an uncommon name. These first three pictures will make you wonder if the name is even remotely appropriate:

https://www.roadtripamerica.com/blog...s/DSC_7696.jpg
https://www.roadtripamerica.com/blog...s/DSC_7658.jpg
Looking at those photos, you would think that the name would be the opposite! The mountains are old. In this next photo, you'll see low, rounded hills, all that remains of a vast field of ancient volcanoes.

There are few people here, so wildlife abounds:

and there are lakes.
https://www.roadtripamerica.com/blog...s/DSC04583.jpg
There have been major fires in these mountains, but in this area, the scars are beginning to heal.

Finally, the headwaters of a little river that will flow into a big river with the same name:

Where am I?
What is the name of these mountains?
For extra points: Name the Little River!

Since we are on the topic of towns that might have ghosts here is my entry. We were just there in February of this year. You do have to drive on a dirt road up to the town but cars can do it just fine.
This town has a VIEW for sure!

The view leaving might help pin point the area if you can identify the mountain range.

Where am I?
What is the name of the town?
Bonus points for the name of the Hotel...which has been removed on the sign by me.
Extra credit if you know what just happened here.

Rick, I'm going to take a stab. Are you in New Mexico, are those the Rocky Mountains, and is that the Little Rio Grande?
If you can figure out the real name of this lake, you'll still have to translate it, but once you've done all that, you'll have this puzzler pretty well solved:

Name the Mountains
Name the Little River that begins here
Rick
California, Sierra Nevadas, Little Truckee River?
If Utahtea has the mountains right, you are in Arizona and that is the Little Colorado River.
Rick, First I didn't mean to post a where am I at the same time you did. I was writing mine up and didn't realize you had posted!
Rick was correct on all! It's devastating when you think of what was lost of not only the American Hotel, the Crapo House and the Ice House buildings but all the contents too!
Here is the inside the smaller Crapo House

This is my next road trip ride!
Do you know where it parked?

And a clue: Mermaids can be found nearby!
I figured this one would be a snap. I just did a Google search on "fish car," assuming that odd looking vehicle would pop right up. I mean, how many could there be?

Quite a few, apparently!
Guess I better refine my search, and I'll keep looking!
Rick
Mermaids in this town have been strutting their fins for more than 25 years.
Mark
"Perfect!" I said to myself. "I'll just do a search on "mermaid car!" Mark's Mystery Mermaid Mobile will surely pop up in the top five, because there can't possibly be all that many mermaid cars!

Hmmm. Looks like I may need an additional qualifier. I'll have to ponder this more deeply...

And a clue: Mermaids can be found nearby!
Nope, these are actual mermaids and mermans. And they perform year-round -- even (and this is the big reveal) when the outside temps are below freezing....
Mark
Well, I'd guess Weeki Wachee, but that's been around a lot more than 25 years, and while a freeze in Florida is always possible, it's not a regular occurrence worthy of mention. You're not at the Denver Downtown Aquarium, or the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, or the Dive Bar in Sacramento, or the Sip and Dip Tiki Lounge in Great Falls, Montana. As near as I can tell, the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas stopped doing their Mermaid show, so that's out. Bottom line--unless I've misjudged and one of the preceding actually IS the right location--I'm still stumped!
Anybody else want to take a run at this?
Rick
Google shark car doesn't help either.
I've searched but have no clue. I do find it interesting that there is either a bug or alien in the passenger seat that looks like it's trying to drive the car. I also tried googling that too...but nothing concrete that I'd make a guess with.
LOL...I even asked my DH what kind of car he thought it was so I could include that in the search. He though a Sunbeam but wasn't positive.
We need more clues!
Utahtea
I believe that's a VW Karmann Ghia.
That's exactly what I was going to say! And for whatever it's worth, here's the proof:
https://www.roadtripamerica.com/blog...Untitled-6.jpg
https://www.roadtripamerica.com/blog...uploads/KG.jpg
Now that we know what it's made of, let's figure out where they park this shark!
Rick
Thanks for figuring out what car that was. It wasn't enough though! LOL...I did find this one that could be a sister car! LINK
We NEED more CLUES!
So we know there is snow and looking at the building I think they get a lot of snow. The
"Photo by Megan Edwards" seems to be a dead end too. I only found one in Ohio.
Utahtea
Megan is Mark's wife. Obviously this is something they came across on one of their road trips.
On RTA alone, there are more than 3,000 photos with her photo credit...
She is the co-founder of RTA
More Clues: Located on a very similar longitude as Spokane, Washington and O'Haire Motor Inn.
Mark
Longitude or latitude?
So the O'Haire Motor Inn has The Sip 'N Dip Lounge which has mermaids! I then went looking on google maps for landmark places and after I put in ART, I found the brick building with the RED roof....it took a little doing but I FOUND IT!
The Great White Shark made by High School Kids is parked at the Paris Gibson Square, Museum of Art, located at 1400 First Avenue North in Great Falls, Montana
This one was HARD!
Utahtea
Good work!
Yes, Megan and I have been to the Sip 'N Dip lounge a number of times. The mermaids swim even when the temperature outside is way below freezing.
Nice detective work!
Mark
If you have ever stood here, you'll recognize this quickly.
Located in the western part of the USA...

Extra points: Can you identify the mythology associated with the statutes?
The statues are from Greek mythology; that's Perseus (aka Jason) holding Medusa's head, complete with writhing snakes in lieu of hair. I'm not sure of the location. The Huntington Library comes to mind, but I was unable to confirm.
Rick
I think you are right.
https://worleygig.files.wordpress.co...ue-garden-.jpg
Yep, that' a much better photo than the one I captured. Nice sleuthing George and Rick!
The Huntington Library in Pasadena, California.
