sounds like a very nice trip, but being from the UK you may not realize many of those roads in the southwest/west are very remote at times and long stretches. be cautious especialy night driving and rest areas. Contact the AAA Moto club website and or mapquest for possible safe routes and trip suggestions. The Desert can be an unforgiving place if you arent diligent in your fun.
