    Driver sits in a windowless pod completely surrounded by seamless TV screens.

    At that point, I don’t see the advantage of a human driver at all – Why not run it from a remote station – like they do with predators – if the driver is relying on TV screens – it would seem that all of the other functions of a driver could be done remotely as well.

    I agree it does seem a tad nuts to me.
