I was looking on the Yosemite NP website this morning and took a look at the webcams in the current conditions section and was amazed at the spectacular sunrise.
No camera tricks but straight from the webcam.

Yeah, those are great. The view from the Tioga Gate kiosk at about the same time was pretty wonderful too.
Shame, the kiosk was still in darkness when I was looking earlier and I saved the views above to my computer to save them updating “live” from the website and losing the original images.
It was actually the kiosk one I was after as I am still unsure of which date I should vote in the Tioga pass contest on the The Great American RoadTrip Forum.
That first picture … has Saquatch just walked in front of the camera?

Dave, the link to the camera at the Tioga Pass Kiosk has been changed — the image is still being updated four times per day, weather permitting, but for some reason the state university is no longer hosting that delivery service. Here is the new link for all five active web cams in the Yosemite National Park.
