KSR-May, 2006

February 17th, 2009

In 2006, RoadTrip America sponsored the Kinetic Sculpture Race. A three day event where human-powered sculptures compete by driving their creations over highways, rivers, sand dunes, and ocean. For a variety of reasons, our coverage was never published on RTA, but here are some of the highlights…
Day One, Launch, Slippery Slope and the infernal mosquito dunes

These 14 images were posted without any editing or resizing and I learned that I probably won’t do that again with this version. Not happy with the results. But not too bad for an automatic function. One thing I learned — you shouldn’t edit the gallery function in code (eg: changing 4 columns to 3) because it loses all of the captions. Arrrrgh. Still testing. What is your experience with this?

Wow! Talk about re-inventing the wheel.
It looks as though a great time was had by all and some great efforts put into creating these bizzare machines.
