The legend of Paul
Bunyan is a big deal in this small hamlet located
at the Junction of State Highway 34 and 62 about
three-and-a-half hours north of Minneapolis-St.
Paul. Paul is 25 feet tall (kneeling!), and
he's always got his hand out, making him a popular
photo opportunity. The citizens of Akeley, Minnesota
have been celebrating Paul Bunyan days since
1955 and have erected
The Akeley Paul Bunyan Historical Museum which
documents the role of logging in this community.
