Heya,

I'm a roadtrip virgin. Heading on a roadtrip to KY in July, with two friends of mine. Just wondering if you guys had any ideas on fun places to stop along the way. Any tips to avoid insanity due to crazy amounts of time in a vehicle? I you could offer a few tips and hints it would be great!

Are you planning to go across parts of Canada first or you want to go through the US all the way? Both ways could be fun.

Half of the fun is actually getting there! Start by reading these rules to put you in the right mood. Road Music is essential on any trip. Here's an extended list of road tunes. The Bad Girl's Guide to the Open Road is a fun and witty book that gives very humorous advice on managing pleasant road trip experiences with or without travelling partners. Lots of great suggestions (and bad ones too I have to admit -- see Speeding rap section).
