10-11 Day Trip in US in early March

My wife and I would like to take a road trip somwhere in US during the ifrst two weeks of March for about 10-11 days. We love nature and would like to see different places. We were thinking of Phoenix-Grand Canyon-Las Vegas-LA-San Diego-SF. Could you please suggest if this is a good itinerary for early March. What can we do in Grand Canyon in this season?
we are open to other itineraries as well. Any suggestions?
