San Francisco to Grand canyon

We are travelling to America in May and want to drive from San Francisco via Yosemite National Park and Death Valley to Las Vagas. We will stay in Vagas for a couple of nights then we want to go to the Grand canyon and then back to Vagas before flying on to LA. We will be travelling with a 3 month old infant and so do not want to spend more then about 4 hours a day travelling. How long should we allow for this trip and do you have any tips on good routes and places to stay? Any and all information is greately accepted. Cheers.

It looks like this will be another wet year in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and so the pass between Yosemite Valley and the Owens Valley (on the way to Death Valley) will still be closed. There are hundreds of posts on this forum about travel between San Francisco and Las Vegas and I suggest you use the search function (in the green navigation bar above) to find them. One such post is this one.

The distances you are talking about not that long, but a four-hour maximum travel period per day will make it a little challenging. It will take about two weeks to cover those distances and still see what there is to see when you are at some of the destinations.
