  1. Default Going from Norway on Vacation in USA for 1month

Hey, I'm going on vacation in March/February next year for one month with two friends.

This is the route we planned, and it goes after dates.
    Starting with March 06.

My friend got some family around in these states, so we are going around in many states.
I went on vacation with my family last year to Florida and it was awesome, we visited Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. The things I remember the most is when we visited Race Rock, Sea World and Universal Studios. So I can't wait to go back :)

Well, my question to you guys is: When we are going trough these different states, what should we visit? We searched alot on the internet and looked for some books on the mall but we didn't find much, so it would be awesome if you people could help us a little :)

Welcome to the Forum -- Sounds like an incredible adventure!
Well, my question to you guys is: When we are going trough these different states, what should we visit?
My first question to you -- would be -- Have you looked at the distances you are traveling? I assume that Lincoln is Lincoln, Nebraska??? If so, it is nearly 1300 miles from Lincoln to Las Vegas and you can not cover that distance in less than two full days of pedal-to-the-metal driving.
We searched alot on the internet and looked for some books on the mall
Well, we have a list of those guidebooks that we, ourselves, use and like. If we recommend a book -- you can be sure it is worth owning. Look at these recommendations here.

Narrow your query down a little bit -- let us know what kinds of thing interest you and we can offer some concrete ideas.

Sorry I forgot, we are taking the plane from Lincoln to Las Vegas :) But we are driving around the other places.

Well we all like cars\motorbikes and trucks, we also love Fun Parks and my two other friends love cowboys and country music.

We tought about visiting Epcot in Orlando and maybe some other parks, we are also going to Race Rock to get some food there because I tought it was a great place to eat and the Monster Truck outside was cool :) Daytona International Speedway is a must again :)
We are stopping by a Harley Davidson store some place when driving on Route 66, I can't remember where it's located atm.
We've all been to Kennedy Space Center before so I dont think we are going there this time. We are also going to the Hoover Dam, btw do any know how many hours it takes from LA to the Hoover Dam?

I also found out that there is Spring Break when we are in Orlando, so i'm damn sure about that we are going to Daytona Beach :P

It depends upon where in LA you are starting from. But generally you can figure it takes five hours from LA to reach Las Vegas and another 45 minutes past LV to reach Hoover Dam.

Any other suggestions on where we can go?

  6. Default suggestions

The Hoover dam is approx 30 mins from Vegas.

Things to do in Vegas - do not miss the following casinos - The Venetian (outdoor and indoor gondala rides are fun), The Bellagio (their dinner buffet is the best in the US), New York-New York (coyote Ugly bar is a fun night spot, great roller coaster that wraps around the casino where you can see the whole strip from the top), Mandalay Bar at night if your looking for a cool club to go to (RumJungle, they have acrobats swinging from the ceilings and great music though expensive drinks), Paris-Paris, and Ceasars; their is also a free show outside of Treasure Island that is pretty cool and best scene from tangerine, a bar in the casino; Circus Circus has an indoor amusement park although most of the rides are for young kids (the exception is the roller coaster). Downtown is cool for a few hrs on the weekends as they have a laser light show & musicians but I wouldn't bother if you have not seen all the casinos I mentioned on the strip first)

LA - Sunset Blvd is awesome, lots of fun places, Melrose Ave in West Hollywood has lots of shopping, The Greek Observatory is a nice hike and you can see views of te Hollywood sign and hills; You can also go to the studios amd get free tickets to tv shows which is fun; the Chinese Max theater has all of the Hollywood stars and the wax museum is close; I loved Venice Beach, a hippie Beach scene with lots of bars, and everything from tarot readings to street preformers

Orlando: I love Epcot, also Pleasure Island is great at night, lots of themed bars and comedy clubs; Universal Studios is fun too, but I would do Epcot over that if you are short on time

Though I have never been, I've heard that San Antonio is also, and its close to Houston. (the Riverwalk is highly recommended).

Hope this helps, have a fun trip!!
