    Sam, Welcome to the Forum!

A winter road trip going... where? And for how long? And what do you want to do?

  3. Default Road trip...

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the response.

Yes. I am planning for the road trip during my X'mas holidays. I am planning between 24th Dec to 31st Dec. Do you have any suggestions about places?

Being new to united states i am looking forward to see many places. I would like to do variety of things from mild sports to sight seeing/relaxing on the way

Sam, I would suggest that a drive down the famed California Coast Highway Route-1 and then head inland at Ventura on SR-126 to I-5 and then continue northeast on SR-126 to SR-14 past Mojave up to SR-58 into Tehachapi and past the famous train loop and then onto Sequoia National Park on SR-198 and SR-180 and then north into the gold country on SR-41 and over to SR-49 and follow the Gold Rush Trail all the way to Placerville and Auburn whereupon you can jump on I-80 and return to San Francisco.

This route would introduce you to hundreds of places that residents and tourists find interesting and fun.

    What do you think?

    Mark

  5. Default Trip from San Francisco

Sounds Great, Thanks Mark. Let me suggest this to my buddy.

Also We were considering to cover Death valley, Las Vegas & Grand canyon if possible, Do you think that could be a long trip for seven days?

If you are going to do the Grand, Death Valley and Las Vegas, I would cut out the Gold Country and Sequoia and maybe the coast highway.

Default Details, sams, we need details...

How can we enjoy a vicarious road trip without details? Where did you go? What did you do? Your favorites? Please share when you get a chance.

Glad you had a good trip! Where are you going next?
